Defiance woman waives right to speedy trial

November 24, 2003 By admin

A northwest Iowa woman has waived her right to a speedy trial. Dixie Shanahan of Defiance, who’s accused of killing her husband and hiding his body in a bedroom for more than a year, waived the right to a speedy trial. That means her trial will not start as scheduled on January 27th. A new trial date has not been scheduled. Shanahan has pled not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder.
