Boone FFA tries to make milk a top drink

April 6, 2004 By admin

The Future Farmers of America chapter at Boone High School is trying to change the drinking habits of students in their school. They’re hoping to get more kids to ask the question: “Got Milk?” Jennie Hansen, a junior from Boone, says her F-F-A chapter put a milk vending machine in their school this past winter. Hansen says kids can also get string cheese and yogurt — which she describes as “healthier options.” Hansen and other members of the Boone chapter are telling their story to the other F-F-A members who’ve gathered in Ames for the group’s state leadership convention. They’ve set up a display, compete with pictures and the press they’ve gotten, to show other kids what they’ve accomplished. State F-A-A officers will be elected today.
