The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-car crash that happened last night (Wednesday) about 6 o’clock near the Wright County town of Clarion. The driver of one car, 40-year-old Steven Eivins of Clarion, was killed. His 16-year-old son, also named Steven, was a passenger and he was injured. The other driver was Thomas Capel of Council Bluffs, who was also injured. Troopers say the Eivins car was eastbound on Highway 3 when he tried to make a U-turn and was broadsided by Capel’s car. No condition reports on the survivors were released.
