NW IA man to plead guilty to vehicular homicide

A northwest Iowa man will plead guilty to vehicular homicide in connection with the death of a 37-year-old Hawarden man early this year. According to information released by the Sioux County Attorney, 32-year-old Shane Allen Gray of Hawarden has signed a plea agreement, promising to plead guilty to homicide by operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. A trial was set to begin next Tuesday. Instead, Gray will enter his plea in court on Tuesday, then be sentenced to 25 years in prison. The charge against Gray alleged that on January 30th of this year, he unintentionally caused the death of Elvis Boyer while Gray was driving drunk. The accident happened on Highway 10 in Sioux County.
