More counties added to state disaster list

August 24, 2007 By admin

Governor Chet Culver has added six more counties to the state disaster declaration list prompted by the flooding. The governor today added Appanoose, Wapello, Davis, Mahaska, Wayne, and Van Buren Counties to the list to make the total 13.

Earlier this week the Governor issued disaster declarations for Boone, Humboldt, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Webster, Calhoun, and Cherokee counties. The governor’s office says additional counties may be added to the disaster proclamation as things progress. The declaration allows the counties to receive state help.
