February 28, 2012 By Todd Kimm

Jasmin Schelhaas connected on 4 free throws in the final 1:27 as Pella Christian upended second-ranked and unbeaten West Hancock 66-63 in a class 2A quarterfinal round game. Schelhaas finished 10 of 13 at the line and led Pella Christian with 17 points.

West Hancock led 24-23 at the halftime break but Pella Christian scored 26 points in the third quarter of a hard fought game that featured nine ties. Pella Christian won the battle on the boards 38-30 and West Hancock coach Paul Sonius says that was a big factor in the outcome.
