Former Bettendorf chiropractor dies in prison

August 14, 2012 By Matt Kelley

A former chiropractor in eastern Iowa has died in prison. Jeffrey Williamsen was 46-years-old. The Iowa Department of Corrections reported today that Williamsen died last Friday due to complications of coronary artery disease, renal failure and hypertension.

Williamsen was serving two 10 year sentences for third degree sexual abuse. The Bettendorf chiropractor was arrested in May 2003 on charges he had nonconsensual sexual contact with a female patient during a chiropractic procedure.

After the initial charges were filed, at least five other women came forward claiming they were also sexually assaulted by Williamsen.
