Waterloo man charged in shooting death of Des Moines woman

January 17, 2013 By Matt Kelley

A Waterloo man has been charged in the shooting death of a Des Moines man. Waterloo Police say 27-year-old Orlando Deon Moore, Jr. was already in the Black Hawk County Jail on a probation violation.

Now, he’s charged with first degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Anthony Gardner. Gardner lived in Des Moines but was visiting Waterloo on December 22 when he was shot to death on the front porch of Moore’s home.

Witnesses told police Moore and Gardner were arguing before Gardner was shot.
