Four from Washington charged with several burglaries

March 5, 2013 By Matt Kelley

Four young men are in custody following a lengthy investigation into a string of theft and criminal mischief cases in southeast Iowa.

The arrests followed the execution of search warrants which uncovered many of the stolen items – including passenger vehicles, semis, an ATV, a riding lawn mower and power tools.

The items were taken from properties in Washington, Louisa, Henry and Johnson counties. Authorities say the combined value of the damaged and stolen property is estimated at $340,000. The young men arrested in the case are all from Washington, Iowa and each are charged with multiple felonies.

They’re identified as 22-year-old Nathan Mueller, 19-year-old Michael Mueller, 21-year-old Travis Peterson and 19-year-old Alexander Fields.
