Iowa women advance to face top seed

March 25, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa Hawkeye women dominated the second half in a 68-52 victory over Miami in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Iowa City. Samantha Logic had 23 points to lead Iowa while Melissa Dixon added 13.

Logic says the key in the second half was rebounding, as they trailed by 15 rebounds at the half, but were able to turn that around in the second half.

Iowa advances to play top seeded Notre Dame on Tuesday night. “Obviously we have nothing to lose, so we are just going to go out and play are hardest,” Logic says. “It’s incredible that we have the opportunity to play Notre Dame at home, so we are all looking forward to it.”
