The former President of Poland will speak in Mason City tonight. Lech Walesa was the first democratically-elected president of Polandwho won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983. Organizers of the visit call Walesa aworld leader, a revolutionary and a dignitary.Elizabeth Gales is director of Business Leadership and Performing Artsat North Iowa Area Community College. Gales says Walesa had a profoundimpact on the world and says it’s important that Iowans hear him speak.Gales says the Walesa speech kicks off the NIACC Leadership series.At last check, Gales said tickets were still available for Walesa’s speechtonight at the NIACC auditorium, scheduled for 7 p-m.
